Linking all essentials and
non-essentials.
Creating a sustainable society.
In just a century, humans have accelerated
the act of “wasting” at an unprecedented rate.
The amount of waste we produce has grown
to a staggering 60 times its previous level and
shows no signs of slowing down.
But should we continue to dispose of valuable
resources and call them mere “waste”?
We need an infrastructure and bold
businesses to tackle these challenges and
circulate our limited resources faster and on a
larger scale.
Let’s connect those who waste with those
who reuse in every aspect of our lives, and
take the lead in creating a transformative
industry that transcends boundaries.
Our goal is not just success but to achieve
sustainable society that we can all be proud of.

Circularity
as a
Service
It may seem so simple but challenging in reality.
With grit and tireless dedication,
we’ve established this service of ECOMMIT.
A Traditional Linear Value Chain
In the traditional Linear Value Chain, most products are simply discarded after being produced, sold, and consumed.
Natural resources are being directed towards a linear process of consumption and disposal.
※The recycle rate in Japan is merely 19.9% (25th in the world). Germany, the No.1 country, recycles over 60%.
(Ministry of the Environment : General waste discharge and disposal status, etc. [2020])
Circular Value Chain
of ECOMMIT
ECOMMIT manages the entire process of collection, sorting, and
redistribution, which can be complex and time-consuming. This
dedication enables the circulation of goods to the next value-added
stage rather than being discarded after use. This leads to a more
sustainable and decarbonized society.

t / year
By having top-level facilities and our own logistics with permits and licenses in place, we are able to consolidate the collection of unnecessary items and waste ourselves. In the field of clothing, we achieved the collection of about 6,000 tons, equivalent to 1% of the total domestic waste amount, in 2019. According to a report by the Ministry of the Environment, discarded items can be valued at around 7.6 trillion yen when converted to market value.
We form proactive partnerships with businesses and local governments, and converts “unavoidably discarded items” into business opportunities through our unique system and routes. As our collection volume increases, we can reduce waste and make more items circulate again.
Evaluation
types
Our vision of “circularity” aims to create the smallest possible cycle that can have the greatest impact on reducing environmental burden. We strives to achieve this by focusing on reuse, where unwanted items are redistributed as they are. For example, 99% of the clothes we collect are evaluated and then re-distributed to the market for reuse, maximizing their value. Our “evaluation” process is the reason we maintain circular centers in each area. We digitize data on who needs what, and when, and use the expertise of our staff to sort the items. For clothing alone, we have 52 types of evaluation, and for all items, we have 123 types. This “evaluation” process allows us to turn unwanted items into “materials” or “products”.
Re-distribution
global partners
We have spent 15 years thoroughly researching and building trust with our partners, allowing us to collect and re-distribute a wide variety of items. However, finding reliable partners for reuse and recycle takes time and effort. In this industry, it is common for companies to unknowingly contribute to environmental problems through illegal waste disposal or other issues in their supply chain. At ECOMMIT, we ensure accountability and ethical practices by managing the entire supply chain and conducting regular field verification of our partners.
Our Service
ECOMMIT is a sustainable trading
company that creates one-stop
circular systems.
Our goal is to achieve a world with no waste. We handle the entire cycle of collection, sorting, redistribution, traceability, and digitalization in-house, utilizing our 15-year experience and network to create customized circulation schemes for companies and municipalities. We also calculate collected data on a dashboard and utilize it for reuse & recycle rate computation and CO2 reduction reporting. Traceability is already the world standard, and we are prepared to meet this challenge.

Message from CEO
In recent years, there has been a surging momentum towards achieving a circular economy that can successfully balance both the environment and the economy. However, in modern society, it is evident that the lack of a “Circular system” is overwhelmingly prominent, as compared to the well-developed manufacturing and distribution systems. As a country that has led the world with its manufacturing and craftsmanship techniques, Japan should take the lead in the field of “Circular Systems”. And we, from Kagoshima Prefecture, are proud to be at the forefront of this movement, as we strive to become the leading sustainable trading company in the world.
Born in 1984 in Osaka, founded ECOMMIT at 22 after 4 years of training and experience at a used goods export company. He recognized the negative environmental impact of exporting electronic waste and stopped the export of untraceable used goods. Currently, the company focuses on proprietary development systems and is expanding its circular economy promotion business for companies and local governments.
