To encourage the practice of a “no-waste lifestyle” by expanding the range of unwanted items residents can responsibly part with, the project will utilize PASSTO, the resource circulation service operated by ECOMMIT Co., Ltd..

In addition to the conventional collection of clothing and miscellaneous goods, the expanded program will now accept items such as contact lens cases, fan merchandise, home appliance cables, and shoes, promoting resource circulation through reuse and recycling. The pilot program will begin in Toyosu.

ECOMMIT Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Satsumasendai City, Kagoshima Prefecture; Representative Director & CEO: Teruyuki Kawano; hereinafter “ECOMMIT”), which builds infrastructure for the collection, sorting, and redistribution of unwanted items toward a circular economy, and Hioki City, Kagoshima Prefecture (Mayor: Yoshitaka Nagayama), have entered into a location agreement aimed at further promoting resource circulation in the region and realizing sustainable community development.

In addition, in spring 2027, ECOMMIT plans to relocate its Kagoshima office, which houses its headquarters functions, to the new multi-use complex “Nekomano Mori,” scheduled to open in Hioki City.

また、2027年春にECOMMITは日置市にオープン予定の新複合施設「猫狐馬ノ杜（ねこまのもり）」に、本社機能のある鹿児島オフィスの移転を予定しております。

[Background and Purpose]

ECOMMIT and Hioki City entered into a “Partnership Agreement for the Promotion of Environmentally Conscious Resource Circulation” on July 5, 2024. Under this agreement—marking the first initiative of its kind for a municipality in Kyushu—approximately 30 collection points have been established across Hioki City, where collection boxes for “PASSTO,” a resource circulation service operated by ECOMMIT, have been installed to collect unwanted clothing and miscellaneous items from households.

By encouraging residents to “PASSTO” items instead of discarding them, the initiative provides opportunities to engage in reuse and recycling, fostering resource circulation across the entire community. From the launch of the service through March 2026, a total of 20,387.34 kg of items has been collected.

【背景と目的について】
ECOMMITと日置市は、令和6年7月5日に日置市と株式会社ECOMMITによる「環境に配慮した資源循環等の推進に関する連携協定」を締結しています。本協定により、自治体としては九州初の取り組みとして、ECOMMITが運営する資源循環サービス「PASSTO（パスト）」の不要品回収ボックスを日置市内約３０拠点に設置し、ご家庭で不要になった衣類・雑貨等を回収しています。捨てずにパストすることで「リユース・リサイクル」に取り組む機会を提供し、地域全体で資源循環に取り組んでまいりました。（サービス開始から令和8年3月までの回収総重量は20,387.34㎏）
