PASSTO, a resource circulation service, conducted a consumer awareness survey regarding paid garbage bag systems (1,110 respondents).

The survey found that nearly 50% of residents living in areas where designated garbage bags must be purchased are consciously taking actions to avoid disposal, such as selling unwanted items, donating them, or using collection boxes.

In addition, among residents currently living in areas without paid garbage bag systems, more than 60% indicated they would consider “non-disposal choices” if such a system were introduced.

その結果、有料のごみ袋を購入する必要がある地域に住む生活者の約5割が「売る・寄付・回収BOXの利用」などの捨てないためのアクションを意識し、実施していることが明らかになりました。また、現在ごみ袋が有料でない地域においても、有料化を想定すると6割以上が“捨てない選択”を検討する意向が示されました。
